Hunter Enjoys Playing Hide and Seek From the Tornado!

When the tornado was on its way over our house, Hunter and Mama hid out in Mama and Daddy's closest. Hunter was so good and he had fun hiding and peeking out from under the pillows! He thought we were playing a game I guess.

After about 45 minutes, Hunter wondered why were still playing Hide and Go Seek under the pillows in the closet. What a great baby!

He finally gave it up and decided he would just sleep through the tornado. Isn't it great to be a kid - the joy of not worrying about anything other than eating and sleeping! :)

Pops Comes to Visit!

Pops was off for two days so he came down to visit Hunter! Little did he know, he would witness a first!!! Hunter has been turning over from his back to his stomach for about two weeks now, but today Hunter turned from his stomach to his back and Pops and Daddy saw it! Mama just missed it but later saw him do it for the second time! Boy - he's growing up too fast!

Botanical Gardens

Hunter and Mama took advantage of the photo shoot Daddy was taking at the Botanical Gardens in Clemson on Saturday. We tagged along for the photo shoot and ended up taking pictures of Hunter afterwords. It was a great morning for pictures!
Hunter and Mama in their blue on the swing. We hope Hunter's eyes stay that color of blue and don't change color!

Hunter has just recently began to grip and hold things by himself, so we decided to see if he could "drive" the train in the gardens. He had a fun time and didn't want to let go to leave!

First Baseball Game

Hunter got to go to his first Myrtle Beach Pelicans game. This is really the first real baseball game he has been to besides little league baseball and softball games. He didn't quite make it nine innings because he got scared when he was awaken by the crowd going crazy in the seventh inning when a player was thrown out of the game. Overall he did great and really seemed to like it!

Britt and Caleb tried their best to catch a foul ball, but none came close enough until they went to the Pelicans souvenir store! We were worried that we wouldn't get to see the game because it had rained all day, but it ended up turning out to be a beautiful evening for the game.

Family Beach Portraits #2

Since we have a photographer in the family, it is hard not to take beach pictures with the families. We went to the end of Sunset Beach one evening, along with all of the other photographers in the area I believe, to take pictures along the ocean.

Hunter really enjoyed getting to play and watch and be held by his cousins Britt and Caleb at the beach. He had so much fun, he didn't want to take naps! He thought he would miss what Britt and Caleb were doing. Before we know it, he'll be running around trying to keep up with them!

Beach Trip #2

Hunter, Mama, and Daddy went to the beach for a second time this summer! This time we went with Michael's family - Nana, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Josh, and Cousins Britt and Caleb. We stayed at a beach house in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. We had a lot of fun taking Hunter to the beach for his second time ever!

Hunter really enjoyed getting into the ocean and having the waves splash over his feet. He smiled and laughed each time! We all had fun watching Hunter and Daddy in the waves!

While Hunter was taking a nap in the baby beach tent, he rolled over onto his pacifier. He then rolled back the other way and the pacifier stuck behind his ear!! It was hilarious! We all enjoyed a good laugh!

Toes Are So Yummy!

Hunter now enjoys being flexible and sucking on his toes! He better enjoy it now because if he takes after his Mama and Daddy he won't be flexible for long!

First Visit

Daddy and Mama's friend John Dean came to visit and stay a couple of days this weekend. This was the first time that he had seen Hunter. Look at him - he looks like a pro holding Hunter. Daddy told Dean that he needed about five of them! :) It was great to catch up with Dean since we had not seen him since we went to New York last summer.

Hunter's New Book

Mimi came to spend a few days with Hunter before she goes back to work on Wednesday. While she was here, she read him his bedtime story two different nights. Hunter just recently got a new farm animal sound touch book that he really enjoys.

Great-Granny trip #2 for the Week

Hunter, Mama, and Mimi took a trip to Franklin, North Carolina to see Great-Granny Poindexter yesterday. We had a lot of fun and ate some good home grown food! Great-Granny thought Hunter had really grown since the last time she had seen him. Hunter's other Great-Grandmother Donald that lives in Clemson also visited him this week. What a week - all 3 Great-Grandmothers in one week! Hunter is one lucky boy!

While visiting Great-Granny, Hunter's cousins Bre and Misty were having a yard sale, so Hunter got to see them as well. Bre enjoyed holding Hunter and even changed a diaper! Misty also held Hunter and was able to put him to sleep several times! Hunter also got to visit with cousin Derek, Aunt Sheila, and Aunt Carolyn. We even stopped by on the way home to see Nana Bowman at work. What a great visit!

Great-Granny Moretz's 80th Birthday

All 3 Great-Grandson's get their picture taken with Great-Granny Moretz at her house in Deep Gap. We celebrated her birthday by giving her a surprise birthday party on Saturday!
Michael and Jessica Jenkins also made the trip to Boone for Granny's party as well. They stayed Saturday night after getting there early to help with the party.
Uncle Jimmy holds Hunter and lets him look outside the window, while everyone else finished their lunch at Makoto's. It is a tradition that we always eat at this Japanese restaurant in Boone before heading home.

Family Beach Portraits

We decided that we liked those cute pictures on the beach where everyone dresses alike and they get their picture taken. It turned out really good and we can't wait to get some of them up on the wall!

Donald Beach Trip 2008

Hunter, Daddy, and Mama went with Mimi, Pops, and Aunt Amy to Myrtle Beach near the end of July. It was Hunter's first trip to the beach and he had a great time! We stayed at Springmaid Beach in South Myrtle. We can't wait to go back again!

Daddy spells Hunter's name in the sand and Mama gets a picture right before the water comes!

Hunter touches his toes in the sand and water for the first time ever!

At least we have Hunter in the picture to make it look cute! This was the second day at the beach.

We found Hunter a float with a sunshade over the top of it. He really seemed enjoy being "lazy" in the lazy river at the hotel!

Daddy and Hunter went swimming in the seal baby pool. Hunter was getting tired and was ready for a nap.

Sleepy Boy

Hunter finds a new way to sleep - covering his eyes!

Mama's Luncheon

Mama had over some friends she taught with for one last hooray before they head back to school. Hunter is amazed when all of the kids around his age came over to visit and have lunch with us! We enjoyed getting to see and play with all of the kids!

Mary Katherine and Kalynn take care of Braylon as he swings through the rainforest!

Mary Katherine, Griffin, and Ethan play with toys they brought with them while the adults ate and socialized!

Daddy's Photo Shoot

While Mama was at a baby shower, Hunter was home with Daddy getting his next photo shoot! He has just in the last couple of weeks realized that he has feet and toes and boy does he think his big toe tastes great!

Hunter can't wait to cheer on his Clemson tiger football team!
Look at those eyelashes! Why can't girls have those long eyelashes?

Hunter has also discovered that he likes his fingers better than his pacifier!

Awww....how cute! Hunter holding Daddy's hand!
