Christmas at the Bowmans

When we arrived in Franklin, we got to see what Santa brought Britt and Caleb - their newest addition - Tank! He is a very cute 8 week old boxer. He was a very sweet puppy and the boys seemed to love him so much!
Both Britt and Caleb were excited to tell us about his UNC bandanna Tank was wearing!
We told them, that he looked like he should be a tiger fan with those orange and black stripes!

Even Hunter enjoyed playing with Tank!

All of the great-grandkids had their picture with Granny Moretz! I think they are all so excited that Granny is closer to us now!
Hunter couldn't wait to tear into his gifts. He was really interested in Daddy's big gift!
This is what Papaw and Nana got Hunter - a new ride! :) He thinks he is big stuff getting to ride around in his wagon. He even has a little buckle and backrest!!
Hunter also thought he needed a ride in Mama and Daddy's present from the Cochran family - a Clemson cooler for tailgating! They did a great job preparing us for tailgating next year!!
Hunter enjoyed hanging out Christmas afternoon with Uncle Jimmy! We were all glad he came over to see us on Christmas!

Merry Christmas Hunter!

I think Hunter gave Mama and Daddy his Christmas present before we even got up Christmas morning - Hunter slept ALL night!!!! When I say all night, I mean from 8:30 until we had to wake him up at 7:00!!! I wish everyone could have seen the smile he gave us when we went to wake him up! It was priceless! We would have let him sleep but we had a big day ahead of us and we had to get up and going. Plus we had to eat our traditional homemade doughnuts that Daddy cooked for us before we left. We didn't take too many pictures but instead decided to video tape most of it. We figured we have a good many pictures already of him at Christmas time. These are a few pictures we were able to take Christmas morning.

I think he liked all of his gifts! He was such a trooper and looked at it all!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town...

Hunter must have been extra good or maybe it was because it was his first Christmas, but on Christmas Eve we had a visitor stop by ------SANTA!!! Santa came by and dropped in to give Hunter a couple of gifts before he went to bed. Hunter was not so sure when he first saw him. His "HO HO HO" kind of scared him, but after a little bit, he did finally sit on the floor and stare up at him. Santa brought Hunter, Mama, and Daddy some candy canes, but Hunter was not about to take anything Santa tried to hand him. He was a little too worried about keeping his eye on Santa instead!

After a while, we were able to get Hunter to sit on his lap for a picture. Hunter still did not take his eyes off of him.

He didn't sit too long though before he figured out what he thought of being held by Santa!

We were able to get him back on the floor when Santa and his reindeer headed off to go deliver presents to other boys and girls! This is what Santa brought Hunter - a bat and tee ball set and a collector Hess truck and loader! What a special night!

Sugar Cookie Decorating Tradition Year #2

For the second year in a row, while in Fort Mill, we made sugar cookies and decorated with them with our "professional" decorating skills! haha. It is so much fun!
We even brought our Pampered Chef decorating kit so it looked more professional! :)
Daddy tried the icing to make sure it tasted okay!
These are our masterpieces!!
What a pair of mittens!
When we came home, we did some more cookies so Hunter could get in on the action. He had slept through the fun in Fort Mill.
It was amazing...he actually seemed to know what to do, including trying to eat them!
Like father, like son!

Visit with the Harringtons

While in Fort Mill, our friends Jenny and Chuck Harrington stopped by to visit. It was a great visit and we really got to catch up on SO much! We are trying to get them to move closer to us because right now they are in Statesville, NC and we want them to be closer to us!! We are going to keep praying that happens!

Christmas in Fort Mill

The weekend before Christmas, we traveled to Fort Mill to have Christmas with my side of the family. We had a great time and it was so much fun to watch Hunter as he had his first experience with the Christmas holidays! Christmas has been so special this year! :)Before we opened gifts, Hunter decided to try on a pair of Mama's old bedroom shoes. He was so amazed that he could wear puppy dogs on his feet!
Before we could go downstairs to open presents, Hunter was peeking through the railings to see what was going on. He was ready to open presents!
Hunter posed with Mimi and Pops in front of their Christmas tree before opening gifts.
The whole family picture (Pops, Aunt Amy, Pixie, Mimi, Hunter, Mama, and Daddy). What a great picture of us all!
Hunter got a cute rocking chair that was his own size from Mimi and Pops! He was so amazed that he could even get down from it!
Of course Hunter got to tear into his gifts first! We wanted to make sure he didn't get worn out before we got to all of his gifts.
This is how Hunter checks out each gift - tasting them to see how he likes them! :)
Aunt Amy will tell you that she got him his favorite gift - Lightening McQueen! He does really like it and enjoys getting pushed around the house on it! I'll try to get the video uploaded to see his reaction to how much he liked this present.
While in Fort Mill, Hunter got to try out Mama's old high chair!
Hunter and his pal Pixie hang out together on the floor! He just thinks he "needs" her all of the time! Pixie thinks otherwise!

"MAMAMAMA.....DADADADADA"

This is how we are greeted each morning when we go into Hunter's room to get him now. A couple of weeks ago, we heard him calling for "Mama" and "Dada" and we couldn't see him in the monitor, so we were worried. We ran into his room to find him STANDING up in the corner of his crib! This was the first morning he pulled up to a standing position in his crib and he was VERY proud of himself! Our little baby is growing up! :(

Merry Christmas from the Bowmans

This was our Christmas card this year! The top was the front. The bottom was the back. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Taking the Day Off of Work

Aunt Amy and Leigh McManus took the day off of work to spend time with Hunter and Mama! We had originally planned on going to Pigeon Forge, TN to go to Dollywood but the rainy forecast kind of scared us away from spending money to be in the rain all day! So instead, we went to Commerce, Georgia and spent money on Christmas presents! :) We had a great time and Hunter and Mama actually got all of their Christmas shopping completed!!! We shopped, had lunch at Five Guys, shopped some more, and then came back to the house to hang out. These are some pictures of Hunter posing and playing with them.
Don't ever let Leigh teach your kid what certain animals look like and say. She was determined to teach Hunter that the Christmas tree from the snow village says..."MOO!!" I don't think Hunter fell for it. Instead, I think Hunter thinks Leigh just moos! :)

I had to get a picture of Hunter in his new shirt! I wonder who bought it for him!! :)

Rainy Day Play

Since it has been rainy lately (which I am not complaining) and Hunter has been so sick, Hunter and Mama have spent quite a few days indoors. Monday it seemed like Hunter's normal toys just weren't enough for Hunter. Luckily for Hunter (and Mama), Daddy had a box he was going to throw out but not before we got to it. It is amazing how much fun you can have with a box... :)

Bowman Christmas Gathering

Saturday was Christmas party time for the extended Bowman family. This was Hunter's first official Christmas party. He did a great job and was such a good boy! There was a lot of good food and we had a great time visiting family!Nana put Daddy in charge of carving the turkey. What Nana didn't know when Daddy said he would do it is that Daddy had never carved a turkey before! :) Daddy did a great job though and the turkey tasted really good!!
Hunter enjoyed getting all of the attention and being passed around to everyone! Uncle Josh even found a plastic cup for Hunter to play with while Papaw held him. He thought that was the best toy of the day I think!

This is a picture of all of the great-grandkids getting ready to open their presents. They all sit in the floor while their presents get passed out to them. Then they tear into the packages...

Hunter wasn't quite sure what to think of it but it didn't take him long to figure out what to do!I think he would have been happy if people had just wrapped up a whole roll of wrapping paper!

Each year the cousins all draw names and they buy each other a gift. This year, Hunter drew his cousin Paige's name and then his cousin McKenzie drew his name. Hunter got Paige a bracelet and McKenzie got Hunter a monkey tree that has balls that go down a tree limb and it makes a sound and sings a song while the balls travel down the tree. Hunter really liked it!

Hunter posing with his gifts! Nana and Papaw also buy the cousins presents as well. He got a toy car from them! It makes noises also!! I can't wait to see Hunter's reaction to Christmas morning!!! Christmas is going to be great this year!! It already has been so far!!
