Hunter Gets a Big Boy Haircut!

Last night we took Hunter to Greenville to get his first real big boy haircut! We took him to a kids cut place called Jelly Beans. It was such a perfect place to go for his first cut. We were expecting tears, screaming, not letting go of us, but we were wrong! The young girl Sarah just grabbed a toy, plopped him in a big chair, started spraying water on his hair, began clipping, and Hunter just sat in amazement! I think Michael and I were in just as much amazement as he was!!

She had definitely done this a few times!

He just sat and played with the popup Sesame Street toy and he was great!

There was one other little boy getting his hair finished up so Hunter watched him closely.

He would even turn for the camera to pose!

She was so good with Hunter and even let him feel the razor before she started shaving his hair around his ear so he wouldn't be shocked. I would never have thought about doing that!

This was the closest we got to a tear, which you can see was only squinted eyes and I'm sure that was just because he didn't understand why the hair was falling onto his face!

What's so great about this place is that for a kid's first haircut, it only cost 1 penny! So we gave Hunter his penny to give to Sarah at the end. They also gave him a certificate with his name, date, age, who cut his hair, and then attached a piece of hair they cut. Then on the back, they attached a baggie filled with all of the hair that they cut! It was so cute!

He was not so sure about giving up his penny to the piggy bank, but once he realized he got a balloon with jellybeans attached to the end of the ribbon, he was okay! He was so good and I'm sure it won't always be like this but it was great for our first experience!!

"BBBAAABBBBYYYY!!"

Hunter's new word these days is "baby" and he probably says it at least 20 times a day! So I thought it was time that we should go and visit my friend Rebecca and her new baby girl - Julia. She was soooo cute and we had fun getting to spend the afternoon with them both!

Hunter wasn't talking and saying "baby" too much though because he was too interested in exploring. He wanted to check out Julia and her ladybug feet as well as her swing and house! We can't wait until Julia and Rebecca come to play/visit us one day!

Happy Birthday Braylon!

Last Saturday was Hunter's first friend's birthday party that he attended and actually kind of could participate in! Hunter's friend Braylon turned one and had his party at the Cleveland Street Park in Greenville and they could not have asked for a better day to have a party!

Hunter was even a trooper and put up with us putting on the birthday hat! Braylon had a Prince theme party!

I think the best part of the birthday party for Hunter was the train that was right beside the picnic shelter! He actually got down and played around on the train and wanted to drive it!

Braylon's mom and dad showed him what to do with the candle. I'm not sure he knew what he was doing other than trying to reach for the cake and candle!

He did however know what he was supposed to do with him own little mini birthday cake! He had actually had a little practice with this when his parents took him to get his pictures made and he got to taste a birthday cake while they took the pictures. I'm pretty sure this was Braylon's favorite part of the party!

And this was Braylon's worst part of the party! :( Hunter wanted to check out what Braylon got as a gift, but while he was down on the ground with Braylon he decided to steal his pacifier out of his mouth. Braylon was not too happy with Hunter then!

Hunter just sat on his Daddy's feet amazed at what Braylon was unwrapping!

Even Aunt Amy, Chuck, and Jenny stopped by to see Hunter! It was such a beautiful day that they were out running around the park. I think Hunter was surprised to see people he knew at this new place. We'll definitely have to go back out there one day when it is not so crowded!

A Little Touch of Spring

Last weekend, Mimi made a visit to Seneca to get her Hunter fix! :) Hunter really enjoyed the time with Mimi and even said her name to her for the first time!! He decided he liked her vest and he needed to try it on!

Since it was such a gorgeous weekend, Mimi, Hunter, Mama, and Daddy decided to take advantage of the few Spring days we had and get out for a wagon ride around the house. Hunter just loves being outside and especially likes to take rides in his wagon!!

Hunter was a little unsure of smiling in the sun when Daddy brought out the camera!

He did however like it when we got in the shade!

It's Still Here!!

We woke up and were expecting it to all be a dream or to at least all be melted but it wasn't! We were so excited that we bundled up again in hopes of building a snowman this morning before Daddy went to work!
After we got out and actually stood in the snow, we knew it would be impossible to build a snowman. We should have built one last night. It was perfect snow for it then, but not this morning. This morning the snow has a huge layer of ice on the top! :( It's so pretty, but not snowman material.
I guess it will be a day to cuddle on the couch and take a nap for Mama and Hunter. Daddy went on to work since the roads weren't too bad. Hunter really liked watching Daddy spin his tires as he backed out of the driveway! We were spoiled by Daddy taking Friday off and then us getting to spend such a great weekend with him! We wished he could be home with us today too!

What a Messy Eater!

Well we found a new food Hunter REALLY enjoys - Lasagna! Mama and Daddy were having lasagna and sweet peas last night so we thought Hunter would enjoy the peas and then he could also have a baby food with it. Boy were we wrong! He did like the peas, but he really liked the lasagna! He ate so much as you can see from the picture! I guess we'll have leftovers today!

All Bundled Up!

Just when we thought we weren't going to be able to use Hunter's ski bib he got for this winter, we were able to pull off the tags and put it on! It fit perfectly! It was so cute on him!

We then bundled him up in his jacket, mittens, hat, and shoes! We think he knew exactly what we were doing because he was full of smiles and ready to go!

A family pic in front of our house in the snow!

We tried to stand him up in the snow, but he was a little too bundled and I am not sure he knew how to stand with all of those layers on!

Hunter's First REAL Snow Day!

Sunday afternoon was definitely one of the best days of Hunter's life! We had our first real snow for this winter. We were really thinking Hunter would not see snow this year, but of course March comes and it finally SNOWS!!! We weren't sure what Hunter would think of it, but as you will see below, he LOVED it!! We probably got between 2-3 inches, which is a lot for around here.

We opened the front door and let him look out and he was just amazed! He could not take his eyes off of the snow so we stepped outside for a few minutes to let him check it out. Let's just say, when we tried to go in to get warm for a few minutes, he wouldn't even let us close the door!!
He just kept looking up in the sky trying to figure out what was going on!

When we got back inside to warm up, we pulled up the blinds on the back door. He just stood there for quite a while just looking out at the snow falling.

When he began kissing the back door, we figured it was time to really bundle him up and take him out to enjoy the snow in person again.

Happy B-day Nana!

This past week was Nana's birthday, so Saturday after Britt's basketball game we celebrated her b-day. First we went to one of Mama's favorite restaurants - Fat Buddies!! Even Hunter enjoyed his grilled cheese he got off of the kids menu! Then we went back to Nana and Papaw's and had Miss Patty's cake and ice cream. Hunter was very fascinated by the candles and wasn't sure what to think of them. Caleb tried to teach him out to blow the candles out.
Instead of blowing the candles out, I think he would have rather have touched them and the cake!
He then did a good job helping Nana open her presents. He actually made sure all of the tissue paper was out of the bags so she could get to the presents easier!

Britt's B-ball Game

Saturday morning we went to Franklin to see Britt play basketball. He has improved so much from last year and we really enjoyed watching him! He did a great job as the team leader and point guard. He even scored most of the points for his team!

Caleb who is still too young to officially play was sweet and played ball with Hunter during the game. He would give the ball to Hunter and let him throw and bounce it to him. The funny thing about the game is that Hunter has learned to say "baby" and anyone who is not an adult to Hunter is a "baby." So Saturday, he called Caleb "baby" several times. I'm not so sure Caleb thought it was as funny as we did!

Ridin' in the Radio Flyer

Hunter got a Radio Flyer for Christmas from his Papaw and Nana and this was one of the first trips we have had around the yard. Daddy was out trimming the bushes, so Hunter and Mama thought that we would bundle up and take a few trips around the yard. Hunter had so much fun! He did not want to get out and go inside, even when his nose and hands were turning red from the cold. We'll definitely have to take a lot more rides in the wagon when it gets warmer outside!
