Hunter Gets a Big Boy Haircut!
Last night we took Hunter to Greenville to get his first real big boy haircut! We took him to a kids cut place called Jelly Beans. It was such a perfect place to go for his first cut. We were expecting tears, screaming, not letting go of us, but we were wrong! The young girl Sarah just grabbed a toy, plopped him in a big chair, started spraying water on his hair, began clipping, and Hunter just sat in amazement! I think Michael and I were in just as much amazement as he was!!
She had definitely done this a few times!
He just sat and played with the popup Sesame Street toy and he was great!
There was one other little boy getting his hair finished up so Hunter watched him closely.
He would even turn for the camera to pose!
She was so good with Hunter and even let him feel the razor before she started shaving his hair around his ear so he wouldn't be shocked. I would never have thought about doing that!
This was the closest we got to a tear, which you can see was only squinted eyes and I'm sure that was just because he didn't understand why the hair was falling onto his face!
What's so great about this place is that for a kid's first haircut, it only cost 1 penny! So we gave Hunter his penny to give to Sarah at the end. They also gave him a certificate with his name, date, age, who cut his hair, and then attached a piece of hair they cut. Then on the back, they attached a baggie filled with all of the hair that they cut! It was so cute!
He was not so sure about giving up his penny to the piggy bank, but once he realized he got a balloon with jellybeans attached to the end of the ribbon, he was okay! He was so good and I'm sure it won't always be like this but it was great for our first experience!!
