A World Where Everyone is a Kid!

The Bowmans took a trip to Disney World at the end of January and had a blast!! It's crazy how even adults feel like a kid when they go to that magical place. This was several firsts for Peyton. He had never flown but did great both ways. He slept flying to Orlando and back to Charlotte! There were several passengers around us that commented on how well behaved both boys were. This had been something I had been a little nervous about but it turned out great! It definitely beat a 10 hour car ride with a baby who does NOT like to ride at all!!
Like the last couple of times that we went to Disney, we stayed at one of Disney's resorts called Pop Century. It is one of the newer of the standard resorts and has its own restaurant inside the resort. Plus it's called "Pop" so Hunter thought that was extra special to stay at Pop's own place! haha
The day we arrived we didn't really have any plans other than getting settled and walking around the resort. There were so many cool things for Hunter to do and see there. He really liked trying to play foosball with the gigantic foosball and men outside of our building.
Of course he was VERY excited to see Mickey for the first time as well!
Now that Toy Story has become one of Hunter's favorite movies these Mr. and Mrs. Potato Heads mean a lot more to him!

Besides it being a bright sunny day and us looking into the sun while taking the picture, I thought this was a great picture of the whole gang! In October of 2009, Michael and I took Hunter for the first time to Disney with my family - Mimi, Pop, and Amy, so this time we thought it would be a good idea to invite Michael's family (Nana, Amanda, Josh, Britt, and Caleb) along with us to experience Peyton's first time in Disney. Just like each time we have gone to Disney, we had a GREAT time and can't wait to go back again!
When talking about going to Disney, Hunter would always say two different things..."I want to shoot Buzz Lightyear and ride the teacups!" The first one, I truly think he remembered from last time - a toy story ride where you get to shoot a laser gun to gain as many points as possible. This was at Magic Kingdom and he probably rode it about 15 times during our few days we were there! As soon as we got off of it, he wanted to get right back on.
At Hollywood Studios (or MGM), there is a new ride to "shoot buzz lightyear" called Toy Story Mania. It was great but always about a 2 hour wait!! I am hoping the newness wears off and the wait time goes down for next time we go so we can do that one a few more times.
The second thing that Hunter kept mentioning before the trip was to ride the tea cups. The reason for this is because every time he would see a commercial about Disney World they would show the tea cups, but he couldn't remember them because we didn't ride them on our last trip to Disney. So this time we rode them twice!! Now he can say he has ridden the tea cups when he sees it on TV.
One thing I don't think he could vividly remember until we got there was the Playhouse Disney show. As soon as he saw the building though I think he could remember it and knew that was exactly what he wanted to do. It is a cute show that goes through a few of Disney's cartoons such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and Handy Manny...all of which Hunter loves to watch. They dance around and sing all of the theme songs and he wanted to watch it several times!
Even Peyton REALLY enjoyed Playhouse Disney. He was squealing and jumping around the whole time. This is a picture of them right before a show.

This is how Peyton explored Disney World most of the time - in the Baby Bjorn! We had taken the stroller but most of the time either Peyton would get upset or we wanted to use the stroller for storage instead of him! So he was attached to either Michael or I pretty much the whole trip, which I am sure has contributed to his separation anxiety beginning to appear!
Being only 6 months old, I wasn't sure how Peyton would like the characters or if he would be afraid of them or even care the least bit about them. Well he totally was just like Hunter was when he first experienced meeting the characters...in awe and excited over them all!! These are a few of Peyton up-close with the characters and his reaction to them!

I think Minnie's "peek-a-boo" won the contest for favorite character by Peyton! He couldn't keep his eyes off of her!!
This was the first character that Hunter met this time around and he was just as excited as the last time. When we had gone the last time we didn't really do many character meetings but this time he was so interested in so many of them that he wanted to go and meet them all and get their autographs in his autograph book that we bought him.
Hunter loved Mickey's hat so much at Hollywood Studios and the big hat they have there, that Hunter got his own hat like Mickey's!

Hunter with Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy!
Below are a few family pics of us with some characters. It was hard to get Peyton to pay attention to the camera instead of the characters! haha
Mickey Mouse!

Daisy Duck!

Buzz Lightyear and Woody! I actually thought this would be Hunter's favorite characters to meet this time since he loves Toy Story so much, but actually they were his least favorite. If you can see by the picture, both of them were VERY tall and big in comparison to us or even all of the other characters. I think they were just a little too intimidating.

My favorite - us with the classic Minnie and Mickey at their house in Toon Town Fair in Magic Kingdom!

Epcot!

These are a few pictures with Hunter and Peyton and their cousins Britt and Caleb.

Chip and Dale

Eeyore, Pooh, and Tigger

Minnie Mouse

Mickey's Sorcerer Hat at Hollywood Studios

Lightning McQueen and Mater

Uncle Josh got a chance to perform on the American Idol stage at Hollywood Studios. After Michael and the rest the gang convinced him to try out, he made it to the show and did a great job! Now we can say both Dada and Uncle Josh have tried out for American Idol and made it onto the show in Hollywood Studios!
