Peyton's 6 Month Photoshoot
So I know I'm a little late updating about Peyton turning 6 months since he just turned 7 months this past weekend, but I wanted to wait until we took him for his check-up to get numbers for the blog. We had his 6 month appointment scheduled as he turned 6 months but instead had to use it as a recheck for a sickness and rescheduled the 6 month appointment for the end of the month. So below are several pictures that Dada took when he turned six months old. I will update about our little 6/7 month old as we go along throughout these cute pics...
First of all, just like Hunter, we are maxing out the head circumference measurement with 95%+. I always love how our pediatrician just comments about them being so smart..how sweet! As for his length, he was 27 inches (about 75% percentile) long and he weighed 19 pounds 10 ounces (80% percentile). Needless to say, with neither Hunter nor Peyton have we had to worry about not gaining enough weight.
As for his "tricks," he can roll from belly to back and from back to belly, especially at night in his crib. He is also able to sit up by himself for quite a while before tumbling to the floor. Although he still thinks he can crawl by putting his arms up like he is flying, he is beginning to get the concept of using his legs and feet to get going. I'm afraid I am really going to have a crawler very soon.
As for words, he first said "Dada" at the end of January and didn't say "Mama" until last week. He has also learned how to say "Bye Bye" and what sounds like "Hey." Although these are the only official words for sure we can determine, he babbles a lot and is constantly making new sounds.
He is really enjoying playing with toys now. He definitely knows how to work his hands and fingers to get what he wants! Dada is the only one that can hold him at the dinner table. If I did, he would have every bit of food and plates in my lap. He is very quick!
Peyton is a great eater! He is now eating all kinds of fruits and veggies. We will soon start trying some baby food meats. Unlike Hunter, he would rather have fruits or veggies than banana oatmeal.
He is a VERY happy baby!! He is always smiling with his cute dimples or laughing unless you have him in a car, he is hungry or sleepy. Other than that, he is one happy boy! We are working on the car riding, but I'm not sure that will be fixed until he is one year old and he can be turned around in the carseat.
A SLEEPER!!! When Peyton was born we were bound and determined not to sleep as a family of four in our king-size bed and so far it is going great!!! It was tough because when Peyton was first born he slept a lot and we would have to wake him up to feed him. Then he got pneumonia and we made the mistake of holding him, rocking him to sleep, letting him sleep with us or in the pack-in-play in our room. I didn't mind it while he was sick, but then it was crazy how a six month old learned to play his parents. Soon after he was better from his pneumonia, we were hoping to get his sleeping back to normal and we did!! It did take a few nights of some crying it out but we are now going on a couple of weeks of good sleeping! In fact, most nights he sleeps in his crib upstairs from about 8:30 to 7:00 in the morning!
"Mama's Boy!" This is Peyton, which inside really makes me smile! He is normally good with Dada or anyone else until I enter his view. It has really been bad now that he can say "Mama!"

Hunter is a WONDERFUL big brother!! He loves Peyton so much. He can't wait to see Peyton each morning and so far he still says that Peyton is his best friend. Peyton is the same way. He lights up each time he sees his big brother. I can't wait to see what he calls Hunter. We are trying to teach him to say Hunter but so far we can't really tell what he will call him. Probably the biggest concern we have with Hunter right now is that he doesn't like Peyton to be asleep. He would much rather have Peyton with us at all times. How sweet!

I love this one of them!!
Pop and Mimi with their boys! I think this is a great picture! Peyton and Hunter are blessed to have family on both sides that love them so much!!
