On Tour in About 20 Years...

Sunday after church, we attempted something we had been wanting to do for a few months - take Hunter golfing! We were worried about how he would do, but it went 110% better than we ever thought it would. Since this was the first attempt, we went to the par 3, 10 hole course in Walhalla. They let us stroll him in the stroller along the course. He looked forward to each green because we gave him a club in his stroller to play with while we putted. After we played all 10 holes, we figured Hunter deserved a reward for being so good. So we let him out of his stroller and took him to the practice putting green.

This was what he did as soon as he saw the balls on the ground. He picked up the balls and ran before we could take them away from him. He was so excited to finally have what we had been playing with for the past hour!

Picking out which club to use! We then figured it was time for his first official golf lesson! :) Mimi and Pops had just suggested the day before that a good/safe/fun sport they thought Hunter should play would be golf...so here we go! Start them young right!? We figured if Tiger Woods started at 3, we better start Hunter at 1 to have any chance!

While Daddy took the pictures, Mama tried to show him how to hold the club. He was too thrilled to actually hold the putter, much less pay attention to anything we were trying to show him!

So we just let him go and try it himself. He actually did much better than we expected! We'll have to keep our eyes on the lookout for a "Hunter size" putter. He has a plastic one we got him for his birthday that will do for now.

I think the smile on his face says it all...he LOVED this family outing!
