Beach Trip #2

We had planned this beach trip in June but then ended up having to change it because their was bad weather that came to the gulf along with a hurricane.  Luckily they were generous and allowed us to change our vacation to July.  While that worked out great for most people, it was a little harder for Michael because he had to work during the vacation since he had already taken the week off in June.  He did still get to spend the first couple of days on the beach though which was great!  It's a good thing too because after that the weather was not nearly as good as the first two days.  While I would love to say that that everything was great, it was crazy that after how beautiful the beach looks in the first two pictures, after these two days, it did not look like this.  It is something called the red tide where seaweed comes ashore and along the coastline and pretty much keeps you from being able to swim.  That did not stop the boys from having a blast inside though.  Even on the rainy days, Hunter and Peyton loved getting to spend time with family, especially their cousins Britt and Caleb!

Look how crystal clear that water looked...gorgeous!  If only it had stayed that way!!

The four cousins ready to hit the beach!  Britt and Caleb are so good with Hunter and Peyton, even when Hunter and Peyton are on their heels thinking they can do everything their older cousins can do!  Thanks boys!

As you can see Peyton is not in the picture above because by the second day of the vacation, he was running a fever and pretty much sat in my lap while at the beach that day.  Poor guy!  Then that evening, we went to eat a seafood restaurant and Hunter threw up!  What a day!

The evening that we took our family pictures, the weather was great!  It was a little windy but the lighting and weather turned out great.

You can see behind Hunter and Peyton the seaweed that I was talking about and how the water was no longer crystal clear.

Doing their famous "airplane" hold!

A few family pics of us 4

Of course here are my favorites...Dada and the boys walking on the beach.  While the ocean was not crystal clear some days, the sand was always like this...pure white and fluffy.  It wasn't like the sand at Myrtle at all.  It was so pretty but at the same time hard to build sand castles with because it is so soft.

A couple of Bowman/Cochran Family shots
While we were at the beach, we celebrated Peyton's birthday with an ice cream cake and some gifts.  Of course that was a hit with him!
Not only does he love ice cream, but he also loves M&Ms!

This is probably one of my favorite highlights of the trip...

It was delicious and I know that I have NEVER had a steak that tasted that good!  For Michael to want to go back to a restaurant to get a steak again, that should tell you that it was the best steak ever!  And it was huge!
Such a cute picture of Caleb and Peyton!

There's a tradition at this restuarant that people put their names on dollar bills and then staple it somewhere in the restaurant.  You can see that Peyton is pointing to the dollars above him.  There were definitely over 1,000,000 dollar bills throughout the restuarant!!  So of course we contributed to their multi-million dollar restaurant...haha...

This is a place we thought about eating but when we found out the line was over two hours, we decided to stick to Jim n' Nicks instead.  It was definitely interesting...wild colors everywhere, you could feed alligators (that were not hungry because of the thousands of people that feed them daily), and then you take permant markers and write messages ANYWHERE you can find room!  Crazy!  So here we are with our message...
