Tooth fairy

What an eventful summer evening we had this past summer at the pool.  Hunter encountered a strange accident while sitting on the steps of the pool playing with a kick board.  He barely pushed it below the water and it quickly flew out of the water and hit his chin.  There was immediately blood coming from his mouth and seconds later we realized that it was coming from a tooth.  We ran him outside the pool deck into the grass where he continued to bleed and when we were finally able to take a look, we realized he was missing a lower front tooth!!!  We did find it where he had spit it out on the ground below him and what a sight!  I have never seen a baby tooth look like this.  You can see below that the roots and all came out.  Poor baby!  He was not so much in pain as he was shocked and scared over this, as were his parents!  We immediately called the pediatric dentist and she set us up for xrays to make sure there was no permanent damage to his other teeth.  She told us to not worry about it and to consider it a tooth fairy tooth!  So our just barely turned four year old got to experience the tooth fairy a little earlier than most kids!
Hunter got to use the same tooth fairy pillow that Dada had when he was a little boy!

You can see by this picture how massive this baby tooth was!

Here is a picture of our brave boy when he and his parents finally calmed down!  We did get to the dentist for xrays and found out that there was no permanent damage thank goodness!  He was excited about the tooth fairy and obviously the tooth fairy heard how dramatic this first tooth loss experience was because when he came, he left Hunter $5 and a quarter!
