Hunter and His Friends

It has been a great summer with family and this week we enjoyed our friends as well! We were invited over to Sam and Troy's house to play, Ike and his family came over for dinner, and then we went also went to the pool with several friends as well. It was a great week and it is so much fun to see Hunter begin to interact more with his friends!

Sam and Troy and their mom, Rebecca, invited Hunter and I over for a playdate on their new swingset. It was very nice and Hunter had a great time with his friends! We also played inside and it's amazing how much fun other friend's toys are! haha. Thanks Millers for having us come play!

Sam was so cute when I asked him for a picture! He had a great smile! He did good on the swing and was able to stop and get off all by himself!

Tuesday night Ike and his mom and dad came over for dinner. They had been so nice to invite us over dinner that we wanted to do the same in return. We grilled hamburgers for dinner and had ice cream for dessert! Hunter and Ike really played good together.
The two boys looking out the window...cute!

Before Ike left, Hunter gave him a big hug. Hunter was a little overbearing and almost made Ike do a backflip!

A Couple of Cute Shots of "Hunner"

These are just a few shots of "Hunner" this past week. When we would ask Hunter his name, he has said "H" for quite a few months up until just a few days ago. Now when you ask him his name or he sees a picture of himself he says "Hunner." It sure is cute coming from a 15th month old!
This is "Hunner" after he woke up from a nap this week. I guess it is a good thing he has straight hair and we can calm this hair down after he wakes up! :)

What a great idea - a picnic at the lake!

Well that is what we thought...go to the park on the lake for a picnic and have loads of fun. Boy were we wrong. We have done this so many times but this day was different. Instead of packing a picnic, we just stopped by Chick-fil-A and grabbed us some lunch and took it out to South Cove Park on Lake Keowee. After we got there, we were invaded by flies!! YUCK!! So we thought maybe if we change tables then it would be better. Wrong again! After Hunter played a little and saw some boats, we headed to the house to eat our lunch! So much for a great idea. Here are a few pics of Hunter playing. The flies didn't seem to bother his fun...

There were so many sticks!

Mimi and Hunter pose for a cute pic before we pack up our picnic

An Evening of Fun

Last Thursday evening we had a good dinner with Mimi, Pops, and Grandma Donald and then spent the evening hanging out together. Hunter had fun showing everyone how good he is at climbing up the steps of his swingset!

Hunter and Pops had fun swinging together!

Then he walked around the yard with Mimi looking for rocks and sticks!

After an evening of playing hard outside, Hunter came in for a bath and to hang out with his Great-Grandma Donald!

"Think You"

Last Thursday Hunter fed himself with a spoon for the first time! We have put food on the spoon for him to put it up to his mouth before and he could do that, but he has never actually put the food on the spoon and put it into his mouth himself! I guess it just needed to be ice cream before he could do it! :) He is so funny because we each had a cup of homemade ice cream and were feeding him a little bit as we ate. Then he got the idea that if he said "Think (thank) you" then we would just give him the cup and spoon himself. So of course since Mimi and Pops were there, he ended up with his own cup and spoon and learned to feed himself for the first time! It was so cute!

4th of July

July 4th during the day was very low key for the Bowmans. Daddy got some work done around the yard and Hunter played on his swingset. Then that night we had some friends over for dinner, games, and just to hang out. We had such a good time and the butterfinger ice cream was great! I can't wait to have Amanda, April, and Scott over again. I forgot to take pictures that night, but here are a few from the day...
Daddy took Hunter on a jeep ride around the yard and down the street. Hunter loves any chance to ride with Daddy in his jeep, even if he can't go any further than our street!

These are just a couple of pictures Daddy took of Hunter playing on his swingset. I'm glad he enjoys being outside so much! What a great 4th we had!

Swimmin' with the Girls

Last Friday, Hunter and Mama went to Greenville to swim with Aunt Amy, Jenny, and Leigh at Jenny's apartment pool. We had so much fun and we'll have to do it again sometime!

Since swimming always makes you thirsty and hungry, Aunt Amy took Hunter over to the lounge chairs for a break from swimming and fed him and her a "nack". The picture above shows how excited he was about his snack!
Aunt Amy with a very tired boy after swimming. We were worried about him getting too much sun, so Mama put her shirt on him to keep him from burning.

Jenny and Hunter...Very soon, Jenny will have her own little guy to take to the pool! Hunter can't wait for his new buddy, Cai, to be born! Thanks Jenny for letting us come to swim at your pool with you!
This is what Hunter thought about Leigh! I guess he still remembers her from Christmas time trying to teach him that a Christmas tree says "moo!" He did however come around when she had some honey graham goldfish for him! Hunter can definitely be persuaded by food.

One Cool Dude!

Last week if you saw a little kiddie riding around in the back of a convertible mustang, it might have been HUNTER!! He was definitely one cool kid! He loved it! Daddy had a someone needing to borrow his truck, so we got to borrow his mustang. Knowing that we will never own one made it even more fun. Daddy took Hunter on several rides throughout the weekend and he had a blast....and so did Mama! :)

Boy does he think he's hot stuff! haha
Hunter's favorite part about having the mustang for a few days was getting to always be able to look for the moon. He has a fascination with the moon these days, so it was so neat that he could just point up to the sky and find the moon every evening. Later on that weekend, when we got the truck back, Hunter kept looking and pointing at the roof of the truck wanting Daddy to put down the top! haha What a fun-filled few days!

Happy Birthday "Sixie"!

While taking care of Pixie or "Sixie" as Hunter calls her, Hunter became very attached to "his new puppy!" The only problem was that Pixie is not such a young puppy ready to run from and be chased by Hunter. The week after Pixie went home, she had her 16th birthday! Hunter decorated her a birthday card and sent her a message about how much he missed her. This is a picture of "Sixie" reading her card from Hunter! haha

Wild Child!

Two weeks ago, Pops and Mimi came down to visit and Hunter wanted to take them to one of our favorite places to play - a playground in Clemson. We had a great time trying to get Hunter's gleaming smile as he flew down the big looping slide! We had to take his shoes off because they were slowing him down. What an adventurous kid we have when it comes to playground slides - the bigger and crazier, the better!

The Boys Hang Out in Seneca...

A couple of weeks ago, Hunter's cousins - Britt and Caleb came down with Aunt Amanda. We had a great visit and can't wait for them to come back again soon! Hunter really enjoyed hanging out with his cousins and aunt!

Britt and Caleb played "baketball" with Hunter. Hunter now thinks that all balls are "baketballs." It is so funny when he makes a basket, he wants you to clap. He puts the ball in the goal and turns to make sure you clap for him!

Britt and Caleb also built blocks with him. Hunter played just like he does with Daddy - let them build it and then him destroy it!

What a cute pic of the three cousins!

We met Daddy at Chick-fil-A for lunch that day. Although Hunter will not eat meat or any kind of potatoes (which is what you eat at Chick-fil-A), he never forgets how much he likes their milkshakes. If we are getting a milkshake, it has to be on the way out the door or after everyone has finished eating. As you can see from the pictures above, Britt and Caleb offered to share their milkshake with Hunter. What they didn't know was that they would not get it back and it would be in Hunter's possession until it was finished! What a great time Hunter had hanging out with his cousins!

Peek-a-Boo!

In the past Hunter has hid behind things such as desks, chairs, etc. to play peek-a-boo. This week is different. He puts his hands over his eyes until you say, "Where is Hunter?" and then he opens them up and attempts to say "Peek-a-Boo!" It's so cute!

What a Good CareTaker!

Since Mimi, Pops, and Aunt Amy were heading to the beach this week, we brought Pixie home with us from Fort Mill. Since she is 16 years old, we find it very hard to put her in a kennel or leave her for someone else to take care of for a whole week. So Hunter decided to take on the job of puppy-sitting this week and boy is he good at it! He is so good with Pixie and even feeds her bite by bite whenever he can. He also wants to give Pixie her "cookie" when she comes in from outside! Even though Hunter is mostly gentle and caring for Pixie, I'm sure Pixie will be glad to get home and rest next week!
I found Hunter one day this week pretending to be like Pixie and lay in her bed! At least he hasn't started barking yet! haha
Hunter thinks it is hilarious when Pixie scratches her head on the side of her bed, so of course he needed to try it out as well! What a silly boy!

Happy Father's Day Daddy, Papaw, and Pops!

After being gone almost an entire week away from Daddy, I think Daddy and Hunter enjoyed Father's Day a lot! It was a great day! We went to church for part of the morning (until Hunter called us back to get him in nursery b/c he missed his Daddy so much), met Papaw and Nana for lunch in Clayton, GA, took a nap with Daddy, and then went to the park and played on the playground (by the way...Hunter loves the big slides!!)! What a great Father's Day! We love you Dada!!
Hunter searched for quite a few days to find his Dada a Father's Day gift. Daddy had been wanting a tin lunchbox to take to work. I think he was tired of being ridiculed about taking Mama's Vera Bradley blue and yellow flowered lunchbox for so many days! So we finally found Daddy a Clemson tin lunchbox in downtown Clemson. I think Daddy really liked Hunter's gift for him!
This was part of the nap that Hunter and Daddy took on Father's Day! How sweet!!

Before Mama and Hunter left Fort Mill, we celebrated Father's Day with Pops on Saturday morning. We took him to breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then got him some new flip flops for the beach. We had a great time visiting with him throughout the week!
Pops and his favorite daughters! :)

Driving the Boat Around the Pool

It was nice that Mimi and Pops have a neighborhood pool right down the street from their house. It stormed several days so we didn't get to go everyday like we had hoped, but we still took advantage of the pool when we could! Hunter wasn't so sure about the water at first, but then he figured out he could be in the pool by driving his boat around the water. This made the pool much more fun for him!
Saturday morning, Aunt Amy joined us to go swimming at the pool! This day he wasn't so sure about the boat but really enjoyed sitting on the edge of the pool with Mimi. He also liked the kiddie pool. He liked the idea that he could stand up and walk around that pool by himself! I thought he would not go back in after he fell down under the water two times, but it only progressed to this...
He found out he enjoys jumping off of the side of the pool into the water! I hope he will be eager to learn to swim next summer!

Hunter's Trip to Fort Mill

Last week Daddy had to work 80+ hours because of the expansion at the hospital, so Mama and Hunter took a trip to Fort Mill to see Mimi and Pops. We had a great time and felt like we had been on vacation for two whole weeks since we had just come home from the beach a few days before. We really missed Daddy a lot and wished he could have come with us. Maybe he will be able to come with us next time! Here are a few pictures from our week in Fort Mill...

Of course, Hunter was spoiled all week by his Mimi and Pops. Even now when we are home, he is still calling for them when we gets into trouble or doesn't want his diaper changed! I don't think he understood when he woke up from our drive home why they weren't there with him anymore, especially since we had taken Pixie home with us.

Hunter now has his own room at Mimi and Pops! He has his crib, toy box, toys, books, dresser, and even a Foosball table in his room! He loves it! It definitely made me realize that we need to fix his room at our house where he can go in it anytime of the day without us. I think one of Hunter's favorite things about his new room at Mimi and Pop's house is that he can get up on top of his toy box and look outside. His room is on the second floor, so he can look down in the backyard and see the birds taking a bath in the birdbath. He just kept laughing every time he saw the birds go in and splash around.

This is what I'm talking about when I say spoiled...a cup of vanilla milkshake ALL to himself! Let's just say he wouldn't let us touch the cup and when it was finished he threw the cup and started crying his eyes out! I guess Mimi really knows how to make a little 14 month happy - a milkshake! :)

Hunter thought it was hilarious to crawl up into Pops chair in the living room and act like he was taking a nap in his chair! He just would beam at Pops like "hey I stole your chair!" He has this new thing now when he gets sleepy - he rubs his hair! I hope this doesn't cause it to fall out!!!
